If your gold card, that you are currently using expires soon, make sure to ccollect a new one. The New SASSA Gold Card is similar to how you would use a regular bank card because any shop, supermarket or store can accept payments made by gold cards.
Collecting New Sassa Gold Cards
Where do I collect my New Sassa Gold Card?
Beneficiaries of soon-to-expire cards, can pick up their new Sassa gold card at a Post Office branch.
Exclusively beneficiaries of cards are due to expire by March 2023, (or in the case of lost cards) can collect a new card.
Note:
The New SASSA Gold Card will only be issued by the Post Office to the name of the individual whose card is expiring, directly.
No collections by other individuals will be allowed, unless by a person that is legally empowered and registered with Sassa.
When do I collect my New Sassa Gold Card?
New gold cards for old age grants and disability grants: Mondays and Tuesdays
New gold cards for child support grant beneficiaries: Wednesday – Saturday.
Post Office Branch Operating Hours:
Mondays to Fridays : 08h00 – 16h00
Saturday: 09h00 – 13h00
Sunday: Closed
Requirements to collect Sassa Gold Cards:
- Bring with your South African Identity Document (ID);
- Bring with your Sassa gold card (which must be expiring in March 2023);
- New Gold Card are issued to the beneficiary through fingerprint verification at the Post Office
How soon can I use my Sassa Gold Card?
- After receiving your card, activate your gold card and select a PIN from the Post Office.
- After this, you will be able to make a purchase or cash withdrawals using the card.
