TVET opens career doors!

TVET colleges have super low fees, funding is available and they even allow students without a Matric Certificate!

TVET courses usually take 1,5 to 3 years to complete.

TVET colleges train prospective tradespeople with in-demand skills and an industry-related apprenticeship as part of the practical training.

TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) used to be called FET (Further Education and Training), but they are no different.

How much does a TVET course cost? Typically, R7,521 per year What about student loans?

NSFAS is a study loan of R15 750 - R24 000 depending on location. It is paid directly to you instead of the College & has to be paid back after completing qualification, & finding a job salary of R30,000 + per year.

Students can get a National Senior Certificate (NSC) after completion of Matric. 

Or sign up for technical and vocational education and training which prepare them for positions in specific job sectors, often those with skills shortage.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: - Be at least 16 years of age; - Have a completed Grade 9;   - Qualification or ABET Level 4 Certificate.

TVET Apply Online: Click on the "First time here?" block to register; Go to step 1, placement test; Upload your ID, proof of residence (e.g. utilities bill) and results;

For a NSFAS bursary: upload proof of income & ID documents of your parents / legal guardians. Answer every question on "Pre-Entry Information" even if "I don't know"; Check your answers for spelling & details; Click on "Finish" when you are done.

Bridging Courses by TVET colleges are fast learning programs that are targeted to help high school students gain college or university admission.  These introductory courses can take six months to a year.
